]]>There are currently six teams competing in the double elimination with championships expected to proceed in earlyDecember.
Laughter and camaraderie high-lighted the three-game set.
Both teams ridiculed and joked with one another. With each joke followed contagious laughter from the individual team members, the referee and scorekeeper.
Both teams showed great teamwork and game strategic skills throughout the game.
Some players highlighted their individual talent on the court, while others showcased their teams strength.
Decery Liemam scored with a 3-serve-series that put Apwedax in the lead during the rst set.
While Apwedax2 members: Rency Une, Tatu Gallen, MarKenny Alfons, and Yushumi Saimon showed off their teamwork skills for blocking and returning the ball to team Apwedax.
Floriano Ponapart, StewartJohnny, and Midson Tom from Apwedax showed their individuality with hard scoring spikes throughout the three-game sets,that lead to the victory of team Apwedax.
Judy Wilbur from Apwedax2 stated, “The game is always fun when we compete, no one gets mad – we just have fun”.

]]>The lecture was made possible by the Consulate General of the Philippines and the Philippine Studies Lecture Series which invited the Philippine Armed Force officers to speak to the Guam Army National Guard and the University of Guam.
Southern Luzon Commander, Lt. Gen. Pamonag’s lecture focused on the ISIS situation in Malawi city over the last couple of months. The lecture shared the hardship and triumph of the Philippine Armed Forces and the people of Malawi City, Mindanao.
Pamonag stated, “it was approximately 158 days of continuous conflicting, and we were finally happy to hoist the Philippine national flag after liberating Malawi city.”
The lecture presented real-life images and videos of military and ISIS strikes in Malawi City, the military’s dedication to ending ISIS attacks, and the different humanitarian efforts to use to restore the city.
The lecture provided vital information for the students and the community about Malawi city and the ultimate victory of the Filipino community.
Without out any hesitation, Pamonag shared the story about the brave soldiers that risked their lives to ensure the victory of Mindanao which is now considered safe for travelers and tourists.
Before the end of the presentation, Lt. Gen. Pamonag was presented with a Legislative Resolution awarded by Senator Frank Aguon.
Forum moderator, Dr. Lilnabeth Somera was impressed by the turnout of students and community members. And she hopes to see more attendees next semester for the 10th lecture series.

]]>University of Guam library administration recognized the need and importance of digitizing the information available about the region and the collection currently available at both UOG Libraries.
Ryan Shook is a UOG Alumni. He graduated with a double Bachelors of Arts in Fine Arts and Secondary Education in 2010.
Then, completed his Master’s Degree in Information Technology from the University of North Texas earlier this year.
Shook is the new Reference Librarian at the RFK Library. His position assists students with one-on-one research question inquiries as well as conduct Information Literacy Class lectures, for the English Research Writing Courses(EN111) and First-Year Seminar classes(FY101).
The Digital Library Collection will benefit both the MARC Library and the RFK Library, as well as, students conducting regional research.
Shook was also an influential Art and Music instructor at FBLG Middle School from 2011-2018. He was interviewed by KUAM News on Dec. 2013 to discuss the importance of Art in teaching.
His love for art and technology is now flourishing across the UOG Libraries.
