Another thing about the The Tide is that it is not just a show but a class as well.

Provided by the University of Guam, it is an upper division college course called “Mass Media Experience”. It is true to its name as it give students the opportunity and hands-on experience to work with cameras, audio and video equipment, editing software, lighting, directing, and even hosting through the guidance of a teacher. Of course, like any other class, there are assignments and tests but nonetheless this is a course that can branch outside of the average class curriculum. The Tide can reach out millions of people online through their youtube platform and with the ever-growing popularity of social media, students can easily advertise and re-post the episodes through various sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat.
