By Kevin Tano<\/strong><\/p>\n On Nov. 17., the University of Guam held its 28th Presidential Lecture Series, welcoming special guest Royce Gracie.<\/p>\n Gracie is a well-known mixed martial artist and pioneer of Brazilian Jiujitsu.\u00a0 He is also an Ultimate Fighting Championship Hall-of-Famer.<\/p>\n In attendance at the lecture were students and other jiujitsu practitioners.<\/p>\n Gracie spoke about his life experiences and the evolution and philosophy of Jiujitsu.<\/p>\n Because leverage plays a big part in jiu-jitsu, he explained that jiujitsu is a self defense style.<\/p>\n “It\u2019s self defense, it’s not about beating up people,” said Gracie.<\/p>\n Gracie is expected to fight Ken Shamrock on Feb. 19, 2016,in the next Bellator.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" By Kevin Tano On Nov. 17., the University of Guam held its 28th Presidential Lecture Series, welcoming special guest Royce Gracie.
