Catherine Bungabong is a self- employed entrepreneur who enjoys meeting new people, traveling, and giving back to the community.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Catherine is currently the vice president of Rotaract of the Marianas and has been an active member since 2011. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis organization offers me the opportunity to serve my community,\u201d Bungabong says. \u201cAlong with Rotaract, I do projects with the Guam Daily Post<\/i>, China Union Pay, Guam Women\u2019s Chamber of Commerce, and the Guam Symphony Society,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 <\/span>A graduate of the University of Guam, Bungabong completed a degree in communications. With a focus in public relations, she found this major beneficial to her career today.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt took me five years to complete my degree, which included a one- year break,\u201d she said. \u201cWhat took a while was the fact that I didn\u2019t start off as a communications major.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Once Catherine took interest in the communications program, she realized it\u2019s what she should have done from the start since she wanted to become a travel writer or journalist. <\/span><\/p>\n

While attending the University, Bungabong was academically involved in clubs such as the Communications Society and Lambda Pi Eta. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI was a part of the group that helped the Communications Society come back in 2013. Jonas Macapinlac from integrated marketing communications motivated us to put the club back on its feet,\u201d she said. <\/span><\/p>\n

Bungabong\u2019s experiences have enabled her to craft various messages, communicate effectively, handle specific situations, and apply her studies. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe cool thing about Communications is that you can use it in absolutely any field,\u201d Bungabong says.<\/span><\/p>\n
