The UOG Endowment Foundation is a non-profit organization that formed in 1982 through the efforts of UOG leaders and business community partners in improving available programs and capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The UOG Endowment Foundation comprises of four full-time and\nthree part-time employees who help in the betterment of the student life on\ncampus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the many ways that the Endowment Foundation helps UOG\nstudents is through offering scholarships. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All grants and scholarships are donation-based, according to Katrina Perez, the Endowment executive director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe scholarships are created by private donors because it\nholds a special place in their heart to help students who attend UOG and also\nbecause of how UOG changed their lives,\u201d Perez said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UOG Endowment Associate Director, Myracle Mugol, said\n\u201cCriteria for scholarships are formed through private donors and Corporate\norganizations of the University of Guam.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The UOG Endowment Foundation holds campaigns that try to\nhelp the students of UOG in raising funds for the school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One campaign is the G is for Giving, an Alumni Fundraising,\nwhich is currently ongoing until Dec. 31,2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The purpose of this campaign is to raise funds for\nscholarships, research, and programs by encouraging alumni giving. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe have donors choose a specific program or cause they have\nand affinity for, this helps students with certain expenses for their field of\nstudy, for example, the school of education would help a handful of students\npay for their Praxis test, the School of Nursing will help students in buying\npre-nursing gear,\u201d Mugol said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The G is for Giving campaign is held every Tuesday 8:30\na.m.-5 p.m. at different locations on campus. Different student organizations\nand tables which will have collections boxes open for the public and people to\ndonate any given amount. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If one were to donate twenty-five dollars, they would\nreceive a limited-edition G is for Giving shirt as a token of appreciation for\ndonating. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 \u201cWe do receive a lot\nof people who volunteer, whether they\u2019re military helping with the\nbeautification of UOG or people assisting with the campaigns,\u201d Myracle said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re interested in helping this foundation or planning\non interning somewhere, UOG endowment does accept volunteers and interns to\nassist with campaigns such as the G is for giving or other events. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
