Students of the CO 355-Communication Field Experience class hosted a forum on Tuesday, Nov. 17, in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences Lecture Hall.<\/p>\n

The forum spearheaded the idea of student organizations on campus and how students may benefit from them.<\/p>\n

This session sought to encourage students to enrich their academic lives by joining a student organization and motivate them to become more informed about them being conveniently on campus.<\/p>\n

In attendance were four panelists from different organizations throughout the UOG campus, the Student Government Association (SGA) and the International Friendship Club (IFC) to name a few.<\/p>\n

The panel also included the program coordinator of the Student Life Office, Eden Galvez, who manages the establishment of student organizations and clubs on campus and the renewal and recognition of new clubs.<\/p>\n

\u201cAny group of friends can establish their student organization,\u201d Galvez said.\u00a0 The checklist and a list of necessary information can be found at the Student Life Office.<\/p>\n

UOG was home to 40 current and active student organizations, which had increased to 49, with a recent recognition ceremony inducting more clubs to the list.<\/p>\n

The campus houses a diverse mix of organizations, ranging from cultural organizations to a certain lifestyle organizations.<\/p>\n

Some organizations discussed certain scholarships and how joining certain clubs can benefit the students.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy earning enough hours, members of our club can qualify for the International Experience Scholarship which means they can go to a university abroad and experience that universities language and culture,\u201d said Jason Aquino, president of the International Friendship Club.<\/p>\n
