Dunagan Caters to Everything in Between

Everything In Between is a small local business that caters to individuals’ shopping needs, personal care, and everything in between.

Owner Meika Dunagan said her business took a positive turn in May 2020, when she decided to launch beauty products. The beauty products she creates are all handmade, hand-filled, hand-labeled, hand-packaged, and they are all made with love.

Her products are also for all walks of life and all ages.

Dunagan said that it is important for her to take the time to create each and every product, test it, and tailor it to what will benefit all her customers.

The company’s best-selling products include cold-pressed castor oil pens and magic balms.  The magic balms were created to help her daughter’s eczema.

Everything In Between’s best selling product, the magic balm. Magic balm is handmade with castor oil, shea butter, beeswax, coconut oil, and vitamin E. This product can help soothe and relieve dryness and itchiness from eczema or psoriasis, and provide moisture throughout the day and/or night.

Dunagan said she got the idea of creating her small business after giving birth to her son, Caleb. She was a young mother that was not working at the time, so she started running errands and doing administrative things for others.

“I’m very strong clerically and I just noticed that a lot of people need a helping hand going through their everyday life, sometimes whether it was errands to the bank or to the post office that they can’t really fit into their day,” Dunagan said.

When Meika announced the launch of Everything In Between, she gained a lot of support from her friends and family.

Although her business had an unpretentious start, she currently has close to 2,000 followers on Instagram.

Dunagan said: “To some people, that may be small, but to me it’s about the quality and that’s a huge deal to me.”

Dunagan started Everything In Between in her home office, but she felt that she was wasting time sitting at home and not getting any work done.

Since working at home affected her personal life and the way she parented, she finally decided to invest in her business and get an office space where she was able to dedicate her time.

“Now that I have separated work and family, it has helped me so much,” she said. “Everything is going amazing.”

Meagan Kidd, a customer, said the company’s beauty products exceeded her expectations.

Kidd found that the beauty products were affordable, and she appreciated that they were locally made and prepared on island.

“I would recommend it,” Kidd said. “I bought products for my sister and my mom and they love it just as much.”

Tasha Cruz, another customer, also enjoyed the beauty products. Cruz heard a lot of great reviews about the products and decided to try it out. “The magic balm is by far my favorite product. My daughter and I have eczema and it really helped calm down the flares,” Cruz said.

Dunagan does it all. If she is not packing an order, she is in production for a new product, doing social media marketing, and upgrading her website.

“I work maybe 12 hours in a day for seven days a week,” she said. “I have times where I do prioritize my family, but when my daughter and my son are sleeping, I’m up working on my website or I’m in production.”

Dunagan encourages potential business owners to take the risk and follow their dreams. “Definitely do your research, plan ahead, and make sure there is a market for what you want to do. It’s important to plan and invest in your business,” Dunagan said.
