Fanuchånan 2017 Commencement scheduled for Dec. 17

UOG will be holding its Fanuchånan (Fall) 2017 Commencement graduation ceremony at the UOG Calvo Field House on Dec. 17.
The commencement is being organized by UOG’s Enrollment Management of Student Success (EMSS).
Although the exact number of graduates will not be announced until grades have been finalized, an expected 218 undergraduate students and 66 graduates under the master’s degree program will attend the ceremony.
There will be a variety of guest speakers, including UOG President Robert Underwood who will deliver his welcoming remarks and showcase the new Triton hand signal to commence the ceremony.
Irma Laniyo, an English major who is expected to graduate hopes to see more entertainment during the ceremony.
“I would really [like for] the graduation committee to create an elegant setting to make the graduates feel like they have come a long way and that their hard work has paid off,” Laniyo said.
During the commencement, all rules and protocols will be enforced to prevent accidents from occurring if and event of an emergency.
These rules will be announced before the event begins and emergency representatives will be on standby.
There will be a set amount of tickets distributed to allow each graduate to be accompanied by their families and friends.
“This is a day where all students from different majors come together as one. Graduates, get ready because it’s just around the corner and it’s time to show the world what the Tritons are made of,” Laniyo said.
